Chaerin Park(b.1990), Seoul, Korea

Chaerin Park’s practice exists at the intersection of digital culture and the human psyche, encompassing a diverse range of mediums, including painting, drawing, digital collage, drag, video, and sculpture. As a chronically online observer of virtual spaces, Park collects and recontextualizes fragments of internet phenomena, creating layered, intuitive compositions that reflect the complexities of our collective digital consciousness.

Through layered imagery and ambiguous, poetic messaging, her work investigates how digital media shapes contemporary human experience. Drawing inspiration from the chaotic nature of online spaces, Park creates meme-based works that simultaneously critique and celebrate internet culture.

Her artistic approach embraces the overwhelming flow of information defining our digital age, translating it into intricate visual narratives that explore intersections of gender, sexuality, culture, and identity within the digital sea of collective consciousness.

Park’s practice interrogates the psychological implications of our increasingly digitized existence. By immersing herself in virtual environments and distilling observations into multifaceted artworks, she reflects the beautiful chaos of contemporary human experience. Her work serves both as an archive and as commentary—capturing the perpetual stream of digital consciousness while questioning its profound impact on our psyche.
